“In the absence of federal leadership” is an alarming phrase. But Gov. Kathy Hochul was justified using it in a statement that accompanied the executive order she signed Friday . This order allows pharmacists in New York to prescribe and administer Covid-19 vaccines to state residents who request them. True, the order is – as of now – in place for only 30 days, but longer-term solutions are under discussion.
