SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio police officer who shot a teenager as he allegedly came at police with a knife in hand earlier this week has been identified as Jeffrey Pratt, who has been with the force for six years.
Pratt remains on administrative duty pending internal investigations into the Monday incident, per San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) protocol.
On Monday morning, Pratt and other officers responded to a home in the 300 block of West Dickson in south San Antonio after receiving a call that a 16-year-old was "attempting to hurt himself with a knife," according to an incident report.
"Soon after, the juvenile exited the home holding two knives, and aggressively approached the officers," the report states.
