CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - A family-friendly event celebrating your pets is scheduled for September at the Show Me Center.

Pets and Petals will be on Saturday, September 30 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Organizers say there is a $5 entry fee. Kids ages 5 and under can attend for free.

Some of the highlights include local vendors and themed booths, pet festivities, giveaways and more.

According to organizers, some of the festivities include a dog and owner look-alike contest, a whipped cream eating contest and pet adoptions.
