CINCINNATI (WXIX) - The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office filed an appeal Wednesday to try to stop the release of secret grand jury testimony in connection with the downtown Cincinnati brawl.

Attorney Clyde Bennett II filed an Aug 25 motion requesting to view the grand jury transcript involving his client, Dekyra Vernon, 25.

Acting on his own without consulting prosecutors, Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Alan Triggs granted the motion three days later, on Aug. 28.
