Wayne Davis, passed away Friday, Sept. 5, 2025, at Primrose Retirement Community.

A memorial service for Wayne Davis begins at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20, 2025, at High Plains Community Church with Pastor Marty Crump officiating.

Born as Robert Wayne Davis on Jan. 5, 1933, as the youngest son to Clifford H. and Elma M. (Knoy) Davis. Wayne and his siblings, Norma and Richard, spent their youth on the family ranch on Elk Creek Road, 50 miles north of Gillette.

Wayne attended Campbell County High School and graduated in May of 1951, following a state football championship. During his years in high school, Wayne met the love of his life, Sallie Saunders.
