COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has confirmed that a Colorado State Patrol trooper has been arrested for sexual exploitation of a child.

CSPD said officers received information about a person downloading child sexual abuse material from the internet from the National Center for Missing and Endangered Children in February.

Police said they then learned the suspect was a resident of Colorado Springs and a trooper with Colorado State Patrol.

Following the investigation, police said 42-year-old Luke Zellman was arrested on the charge of sexual exploitation of a child and was booked into the El Paso County Jail.

Zellman joined the Colorado State Patrol in 2014 and transferred to the Colorado Springs Troop Office in September 2017 after working
