Gov. Josh Shapiro and other state officials issued statements following the shooting of CEO and co-founder of the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA, Charlie Kirk, during an event at a college in Utah Wednesday afternoon.

Kirk, 31, was speaking at a debate hosted by his nonprofit political organization on Utah Valley University's campus in Orem, Utah, when he was shot.
After he was taken to the hospital, President Donald Trump issued a statement on Truth Social , confirming he had died.
