LUBBOCK, Texas-- A man on a scooter led Lubbock deputies on a Wednesday afternoon chase near 46th and Joliet, according to the Lubbock County Sheriff's Office.

The call was received at approximately 3:50 p.m. regarding a suspicious person. A deputy in the vicinity tried to speak with the individual, but the suspect fled on an electric scooter and refused to stop.

The Lubbock Sheriff's Office got involved in the pursuit, and the suspect got off the scooter and continued to run near Flint Ave and 46th, where deputies were able to apprehend him by using a taser to stop the individual.

The suspect is currently being assessed by medical personnel as a precaution due to the use of a taser.
