LONDON, Ky. — The family of a London man killed during a fatal police raid filed a lawsuit Wednesday against the London Police Department and the City of London.

The lawsuit claims Douglas Harless was killed in his home on Dec. 23, 2024, when police executed a search warrant for the wrong home and killed Harless.

According to a news release, London police came to Harless’ home at 511 Vanzant Road searching for a stolen weed eater. They had a warrant to search 489 Vanzant Road. The release said that just before midnight, officers forced their way into Harless’ home and opened fire, hitting Harless several times and killing him.
