LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - River Heritage Conservancy has responded to new criticism of their Origin Park project in a recent press release issued by New Albany Mayor Jeff Gahan.
On Thursday, Gahan released a statement on the new plans for the 430-acre Origin Park, which now includes a white water rafting course. Gahan dubbed it an “Amusement Park,” saying that it no longer falls into the characterization of a “natural preservation park” as originally planned. He also said that River Heritage leadership has not been willing to collaborate or communicate with the city on their concerns about the project, “despite numerous requests” to the non-profit for a meeting.
