CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Five classroom projects in area schools have been awarded a total of $11,395 by the Edgar and Eleanor Shannon Foundation for Excellence in Public Education.

Three of the winners are from Charlottesville City Schools.
