The National Television Awards , one of the most anticipated nights in British TV , took place this evening at London’s O2 Arena, celebrating the standout shows that have had viewers hooked over the past year. The event was hosted by Joel Dommett and the stars showed up, all dressed to impress. ‌

A total of 14 awards were up for grabs, with stiff competition among fan favourites such as Love Island, Strictly Come Dancing, Gangs of London and Call the Midwife . ‌

The evening's most surprising and talked-about moment came when Ant and Dec's remarkable 23-year streak of winning the Best Presenter award was finally broken, with former Match of the Day host Gary Lineker taking the win. ‌
