Three former Fresno State basketball players have been permanently banned from competing in college athletics by the NCAA.
The NCAA announced its decision on Wednesday after finding that Mykell Robinson, Jalen Weaver and Steven Vasquez either bet on their own games or provided information that enabled others to do so.
The backstory: In February, Fresno State received a tip about potential sports gambling taking place within the men’s basketball team. • The university involved the NCAA after receiving the tip and suspended Weaver and Zaon Collins while investigating.
