Domestic Incident Charges Dropped Against Famed Bulls Coach

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – All charges against former USF football coach Jim Leavitt have been dropped, according to a court document filed in Pinellas County on Wednesday. The State Attorney’s Office concluded that the charges did not warrant prosecution at this time.

The decision comes after Leavitt, the first head coach in the history of the South Florida football program, was arrested on August 25 following a domestic incident in St. Petersburg. The arrest affidavit accused Leavitt of domestic battery, grand theft, and simple battery.

He was alleged to have grabbed his ex-girlfriend’s arm and taken her Louis Vuitton purse during an altercation at an apartment complex, and also to have pushed another man.
