MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. (WNDU) - Franciscan Health is hosting a free car seat safety event for Indiana residents.
It will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. CT at the Franciscan Health Legacy Campus on 301 W. Homer Street.
A nationally certified child passenger safety technician will teach participants how to properly install a car seat.
The child who uses the car seat must be present at the appointment for the technician to provide appropriate guidance.
The car seat safety check typically takes around 20 minutes to an hour to complete, depending on the number of children and seats being inspected.
Participants should be able to install a car seat safely upon completion of the event.
Expectant mothers are also welcome to attend, but they must be at least 34 weeks pregn
