NILES, Mich. (WNDU) - Marijuana businesses in the city of Niles are set to open earlier and close later after the city amended its marijuana ordinances.

The pot shops are now allowed to open at 5 a.m. and stay open until midnight.

Green Stem was one of the first marijuana dispensaries to open in Niles five years ago.

Our partners at the Herald Palladium reported Monday that Niles city officials amended the city’s marijuana ordinances to allow businesses these new hours.

With marijuana dispensaries expected to open in Niles Township the goal is to give city of Niles pot shops an ability to compete.

Green Stem owner George Lynch says more hours will mean more business.
