Comal ISD officials broke ground on a new, 15,400-square-foot campus for the district’s Life Bridges Transition Program on Sept. 2.
The overview
The new campus—which is being funded by Proposition A in the district’s 2023 Bond program—will be located behind Goodwin Frazier Elementary School. The Life Bridges Transition Program works with young adults with disabilities ages 18-21, utilizing instructional pathways and community-based experiences to increase students—referred to as team members—independence in family and community settings, according to the district’s website .
Over 90% of team members go on to full-time and part-time jobs and certifications because of the program’s assistance, Superintendent John Chapman III said.
