The Nipissing Lakers women’s soccer team is already one of the best university squads in the country and they proved that again on Wednesday night.

The Lakers scored four first hall goals and romped to a 5-0 win over the now 0-5 Laurentian Voyageurs.

Nipissing got a pair of goals Annika Nolte and two from Courtney Poelman to improve to 3-0 on the year.

Alicca McMurren had the other Lakers before a huge crowd at the Nipissing University Soccer Complex. on a sunny Wednesday afternoon.

Madison Heeley faced only three shots in earning the clean sheet but made a pair of saves in crease battles in he first half,

Hunter Jones may have given up five goals but she was spectacular in goal for Laurentian.

These two teams mee again in Sudbury Sunday at noon.
