CLARINDA, Iowa (WOWT) - Page County officials were clarifying information Wednesday about a boil advisory put into effect for Clarinda and surrounding rural residents.

According to a Facebook post from the county’s Emergency Management team, authorities had taken samples in order to determine what was causing water to appear cloudy.

“There has not been a confirmation of a microcystin present as stated in one of the Southwest Rural Water posts, but taking precautions until testing is complete,” the post states. The county referred concerned residents to the City of Clarinda or the Southwest Regional Water District for authoritative information on the situation.
