Rob Gronkowski bought into the hype of the New England Patriots going into the 2025 season. But the four-time Super Bowl champion was left disappointed after Week 1.

“I think a lot of people out there bought into the hype,” Gronkowski said during his appearance on “ Up & Adams .” “Everyone thought the Patriots were gonna come out flying, were gonna play with urgency. And let me tell you, it wasn’t there.”

The Patriots fell to the Las Vegas Raiders , 20-13, despite holding a lead going into halftime. But New England couldn’t get anything going against its opponent and only scored three points in the second half.

A major talking point from the loss was Drake Maye . He had an interception and a slew of overthrows, but Gronkowski wants to see more from the second-year quarterback
