DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - Crews responded to a fire at a Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh that caused a brief closure of West Locust Street. No injures were reported.

Wednesday around 2 p.m., the Davenport Fire Department responded to a fire at Hy-Vee Fast & Fresh, located at 2353 West Locust Street. Crews said the call about the fire came in from the Scott Emergency Communications Center (SECC) who said that a cooler in the back exploded and was smoking.

When crews arrived, they said they could see smoke coming from the front of the business.

Crews said they were able to extend a hose line into the business while they searched for people who might be inside. No one was inside the building when crews got there to investigate.
