TROY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The science and biotechnology programs at Hudson Valley Community College got a massive boost on Wednesday. A $500,000 donation from Regeneron is aimed at enhancing STEM education.

The gift will fund a new biotech lab, the expansion of STEM-based workforce development, and the construction of the Applied Technology Education Center (ATEC). Regeneron will also sponsor a dedicated on-campus space that will provide hands-on biotech experience for both college and local high school students.

Officials said the partnership is a huge step forward in preparing the next generation for high demand careers in science and technology.
