The Detroit Tigers are making themselves right at home in the Bronx. One night after a 12-run outburst, they pummeled the New York Yankees again Wednesday, rolling to an 11-1 win at Yankee Stadium.

The Tigers (84-62) have now outscored the Yankees (80-65) by a combined 23-3 in the first two games of the series and leapfrogged the Toronto Blue Jays (83-62) for the best record and No. 1 overall seed in the American League.

“The goal is to win Game 1 so that you can set yourself up to win the series. When you win the series, now we want to get greedy and try to win Game 3,” Tigers manager A.J. Hinch told reporters in New York.
