The UTPB women’s soccer team scored its first goals of the season while getting its first victory in 2025 as the Falcons defeated Wayland Baptist 3-1 Wednesday at Falcon Field.
Playing in their second game of the season, the Falcons (1-0-1)-fresh off a 0-0 draw against Colorado State-Pueblo in last week’s season opener-cruised to a 2-0 halftime lead, controlling the majority of possession and shots.
Cassandra Ramirez had two goals while Trinity Vasquez scored the Falcons’ first goal of the season.
UTPB finished with 14 shots total, nine of which were on target while Wayland Baptist had nine shots total (one on target).
The victory is also the first under head coach Garrett Kull.
