CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Regular riders of Charlotte's light rail system say they see little evidence of promised security improvements nearly three weeks after a Ukrainian woman was stabbed to death on a train , despite transit officials' claims of immediate changes.
Craig Rentenberg, who has commuted on the LYNX Blue Line for five years, said he traveled from the Brooklyn Village station to Ninth Street recently without seeing any security personnel.
"You see the people on the train all the time, and you wonder what could happen," Rentenberg said. "Iryna was sitting in the seat I usually sit in every morning."
