PHOENIX (AZFamily) — After the shocking and devastating news of the assassination of Charlie Kirk , hundreds of people across the Valley on Wednesday night gathered to remember the conservative commentator.

The Dream City Church’s Phoenix location held a special service for Kirk. It was a regularly scheduled event at 6:30 p.m. but turned into a remembrance for Kirk. He regularly worshiped at Dream City and came every first Wednesday night of the month for Freedom Night in America.

Dream City Church senior pastor Luke Barnett called Kirk a patriot and said he died what a preacher should be doing: speaking the truth.
