MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — Three Valley residents are dead following a head-on crash along a Texas panhandle freeway earlier this week.

Arizona’s Family sister station KFDA reports the crash happened around 6:30 pm. CDT on Monday on Interstate 40 , roughly 35 miles west of Amarillo. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a Volvo semi-truck was eastbound on I-40 when it veered onto the shoulder and hit the back of a parked, unoccupied Freightliner semi-truck. The Volvo then traveled back across the eastbound lanes and through the center median, colliding head-on with a westbound Honda Pilot.
