ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Former residents of the now-closed Forest Cove Apartments complex in southeast Atlanta continue to push for justice and accountability.
The complex was closed and demolished last year after residents complained about unsafe living conditions.
On Wednesday, Atlanta News First gained insight into how attorneys representing former Forest Cove residents intend to move ahead. In part, they said it involves examining how different courts handled claims against the former property owner across the country.
“We want them to have viable claims that can survive,” said civil rights attorney Ben Crump.
He explained his strategy for justice for former Forest Cove Apartment residents.
“Dealt with so much loss and living in horrible conditions,” added Crump.
