ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A former Douglas County high school teacher and track and field coach has pleaded guilty to abusing a student.
Kerry Hood, 48, was convicted of three counts of first-degree improper sexual contact by an employee or agent on Monday. He was sentenced to 25 years, with 12 to be served in prison and the rest to be served on probation, court records show.
Kerry Hood turned himself in on Wednesday, the sheriff’s office said. Two days earlier, a person told law enforcement that they were assaulted by Hood while they were a Lithia Springs High School student. (Douglas County Jail)
