Neighbors petition Struthers council over residential lot used for parking

STRUTHERS, Ohio - Neighbors of Sixth Street in Struthers took their concerns to city hall Wednesday night, presenting a petition against a vacant residential property they say is being used as a commercial parking lot.

Tina Garman, who lives across the street from the lot, said she gathered 43 signatures in just three days from neighbors who want the city to intervene.

“We purchased our homes in a residential neighborhood, and do not want a parking lot on our street,” Garman told council members. She added that the lot has brought disturbances, including noise and vehicles at all hours. “To continue to allow this is only setting an example that anyone could buy an empty lot in a residential neighborhood and use it for their business.”

Another neighbor told council he once received a wa
