Several communities throughout the Mahoning Valley are coming together to honor and remember the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

24 years later, community members are taking the time to reflect on that day and how it impacted the United States of America.

Youngstown State University (YSU) is hosting several events across its campus aimed at remembrance.

Beginning at 8:30 a.m., the Carl A. Nunziato Veterans Resource Center and Andrews Student Recreation and Wellness Center will be guiding a one-mile walk around campus while viewing 9/11 informational signs along the route.

The walk begins and ends at Veterans Plaza.

The first 100 participants will receive a free "YSU Remembering 9/11" water bottle.
