MADISON (WKOW) — Lambeau Field has been named the newest "Wonder of Wisconsin," announced Gov. Tony Evers alongside the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Department of Tourism. This designation elevates Lambeau Field to one of the state's premier destinations.

“Lambeau is like a sanctuary—it’s a really special place," said Gov. Evers in a news release. "Adding Lambeau to the list of must-visit sites in Wisconsin honors our proud history and traditions."

Lambeau Field, home to the NFL's only publicly-owned team, the Green Bay Packers, holds a unique place in sports history. Established in 1957, it was renamed in 1965 in honor of Curly Lambeau. The stadium attracts fans worldwide, contributing significantly to local tourism.
