EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) -- A 29-year-old man was arrested for burglary of habitation and later charged with an additional count after police found stolen items belonging to another resident in an apartment complex, according to the news release by the Socorro Police Department.

Shortly after 6 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 8, officers were dispatched to the Socorro Palms Apartments, located at 11251 Socorro Rd., about a burglary in progress.

When officers arrived, the victim gave them the description of a man who had been seen inside her apartment. Officers then located a man matching the description, who fled on foot.

According to Socorro Police, after a short foot chase, the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Jeremy Adrian Ponce, was apprehended and was "positively identified" by the victim.
