ROYAL OAK – Competition from both its schedule and within has Orchard Lake St. Mary’s rolling toward another CHSL Cardinal Division title.

It’s still early in the league, but the Eaglets made another small step with Wednesday evening’s sweep of Royal Oak Shrine by scores of 25-9, 25-13, and 25-15.

Just an Honorable Mention on last year’s MIVCA D1 All-State Team, St. Mary’s junior and Georgetown commit Avery Kapeller came in averaging over five kills per set and may have bumped that number up.

The Eaglets wasted no time getting down to business, scoring the first 11 points of the evening en route to handily capturing the opening set.
