If Max Davis had his way, leaving the field would not be an option for the Burns football standout. One can excuse him for thinking he’s to be in the huddle, though, the junior Swiss Army knife’s skill set warranting him to remain in the mix.
“We try (to limit his snaps) but find ourselves having to rein him in sometimes,” said Burns football coach David Devine. “He’s just one of those guys who loves playing football.”
Aptly nicknamed “Mad Max,” Davis’ talent has been front and center for the Bulldogs through three games, following up on a breakthrough 2024 campaign.
Last fall, he rushed for 408 yards and seven touchdowns, in addition to a TD reception. He also had 73 tackles (10 for a loss), three sacks, an interception, a forced fumble and four fumble recoveries.
