Brenden Jordan and Chapman Lewis joined the Texas Tech football program at the same time , to play the same position, coming from the same area, their high schools 15 miles apart in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
Rather than being rivals, they turned into fast friends. So, for Jordan, flying solo takes some getting used to. He's starting at the same safety position that belonged to Lewis last year, but Lewis will miss most of this season doing surgical rehabilitation on the knee injury he suffered last December in the Liberty Bowl .
