BLOOMINGTON ― They've been through the wars as players and came back for more as coaches at their old schools.

They'll be back on the sidelines Friday ― older, in different roles, but with some of the same old feelings ― as Bloomington North and South get ready to renew their football rivalry on Sept. 12 at South (7 p.m.) for the 67th time since 1972.

Panther assistants Bryce Stancombe and Hunter Smith and the Cougars' Reece Lozano and Sam Werczynski shared their thoughts on what it's like to go through the city rivalry from two different points of view:

Stancombe had a terrific finish to a seven-year career at quarterback at the University of Indianapolis before embarking on an unusual path, playing pro ball in with the Helsinki Roosters of the Finni
