NEW ULM — New Ulm Medical Center Nurse Practioner Sara Kanuch recently received the DAISY Award for extraordinary nurses.

The first NUMC recipient of the biannual award, she was nominated by a patient.

Excerpts from the patient included “Sara was always caring, compassionate and quite simply wonderful. She never made me feel like I was taking too much of her time at any appointment. She always listened to concerns and was on top of any new issues. I would shudder to think how I might have made it through this journey without ‘my Sara.’
