Wallace and Gromit receive 'incredible' special recognition award at NTAs

Wallace and Gromit received a special recognition award at last night's National Television Awards to mark three decades of the iconic characters.

The claymation characters have appeared on screens around the world, entertaining generations of children and adults alike.

The award was presented to the duo during last night's ceremony, following a lengthy video segment featuring Lenny Henry, Sally Lindsay, Adjoa Andoh, Reece Shearsmith and Diane Morgan, creator Nick Park was presented the NTA by Jonathan Ross.

Noting that it was "overwhelming" at how far the characters have come since their debut in 1989, Nick paid a tribute to Wallace’s original voice actor Peter Sallis, who died in 2017.
