With SEC play on the horizon, Auburn football is preparing for one final tune up before seven straight conference games.
That tune up is coming against South Alabama, an in-state school from the Sun Belt who Auburn will face for the first time ever. Similar to last week’s game against Ball State, Saturday’s matchup is going to cost the Tigers.
Auburn is set to pay South Alabama $1.3 million for the Week 3 contest, according to the game contract obtained by AL.com . That’s the same amount it will pay Ball State for the 42-3 beatdown in Week 2.
That $1.3 million payment must be made to South Alabama by March 1, 2026, according to the contract.
