A last-minute hiccup has prevented the City of Nedlands from being able to adopt its 2025-26 budget.
The budget was adopted by commissioners now running the city at their August 27 meeting after several weeks of delays.
But it came back to them on September 3 for some last-minute changes.
These included specifying how much residents will be charged for the Nedlands North and Nedlands West underground power projects, and new instalment dates for rates payments.
“The change is mainly to insert service charges in relation to underground power, which were not included in the adopted budget last week on Wednesday, and there was a typographical error . . . that was picked up by the administration as well as a recalibration of dates,” CEO Keri Shannon said.
