DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Piles of trash and rotting produce were dumped on a street in downtown Los Angeles, attracting rats and raising questions about who made the mess.
Crews from the Los Angeles Department of Sanitation brought in heavy equipment overnight Thursday to clean up the area near 9th Street and Naomi Avenue.
Video from the scene shows large rats scurrying through the piles of debris and what appeared to be mounds of rotting tomatoes.
It's not clear who dumped the produce there. Eyewitness News has reached out to the city's sanitation department for more information.
