EXCLUSIVE: Apple TV+ and ZDF are returning to the Berlin ER operating table.

A second eight-part season of the German-language medical drama, which is also known as KRANK Berlin , has been ordered. Co-created by British physician-turned-screenwriter Samuel Jefferson and Brimstone and Glory maker Viktor Jakovleski, it stars Haley Louise Jones ( Dear Child ) and Slavko Popadić ( Crooks ) as overworked doctors at the most overcrowded hospital in Berlin.

The news comes on the back of a triumphant night for the gritty series at the German Television Awards (Deutscher Fernsehpreis) last night in Cologne, where it won Best Drama Series and Best Cinematography.

Berlin ER was up for six awards awards, namely Best Drama Series, Best Actress for Jones; Best Actor for Popadić;
