HOUSTON (KIAH) — According to officials from the City of Houston and the Office of Mayor John Whitmire, the highly anticipated State of the City Address 2025, which was initially slated to take place on Thursday, September 25th, has been officially postponed indefinitely.
In a statement released earlier today, Mayor Whitmire explained that this decision stems from ongoing contract negotiations between the Hilton hotel chain and the Unite Here labor union.
The mayor expressed his respect for the situation, stating that he will, therefore, respectfully decline the engagement., urging them to "negotiate in good faith and reach a fair, reasonable agreement" that benefits all stakeholders involved.
