MALAD CITY, Idaho — Two Utah residents died Wednesday night in a rollover crash and a third person sustained critical injuries.

All three were in the same vehicle.

The accident occurred around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday when a motorist in a Ford Focus headed southbound on 100 West in Malad City, Idaho, left the roadway onto the right shoulder and overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll. The car hit two unoccupied cars on the opposite side of the road.

A 47-year-old man from Fielding and a 45-year-old woman from Tremonton, both in the Ford, "sustained critical injuries and were transported via ground ambulance to a local hospital where they succumbed to their injuries," Idaho State Police said in a statement Thursday.
