Three men have been arrested as part of a major investigation into historic cases of sexual abuse against children in Rochdale .

The men - aged 65, 79 and 84 - were all arrested as part of Operation Exmoor, which is looking at sexual offences carried out in the town between 2008 and 2010.

Greater Manchester Police says the 79-year-old man is in police custody this afternoon (September 11) after being arrested in Castleton earlier today.

He was arrested on suspicion of raping a girl under the age of 16 and a girl under the age of 13.
