NEW ORLEANS — Americans are with solemn ceremonies, volunteer work, and tributes honoring the nearly 3,000 victims. On this day, al-Qaida hijackers crashed two jetliners into New York’s World Trade Center and another into the Pentagon, killing thousands.

Memorial Events

Location: 500 W University Ave, Hammond, LA 70402 (Gate 3 entrance)

When: Thursday, Sept. 11, Starting at 9 a.m.

Join SELA for their inaugural 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. Registration began at 8 a.m. and the climb begins at 9 a.m. Each participant will be required to sign a Hold Harmless Agreement at the event. There will be a prize awarded for the Largest Team, Fastest Team, and Fastest Individual. T-shirts and stickers will be sold at the event.
