NO 10 reportedly hired Lord Peter Mandelson as the UK's ambassador to the US despite "security concerns" involving his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein.
Dithering Sir Keir Starmer finally sacked Mandelson today amid a deepening scandal into his friendship with disgraced Epstein.
The PM fired the Labour peer with immediate effect after emails showed him calling the late paedophile his "best pal".
However, sources have now claimed that security services did flag concerns over Mandelson, according to Sky News.
No 10 allegedly did not judge these concerns as enough to stop the ambassadorial appointment, the outlet reports.
