Best guess: People everywhere may find something to love about “The Lowdown,” a new shot-in-Tulsa series starring Ethan Hawke that premieres Sept. 23 on FX.
Not a guess: Tulsans who watch the show will be treated to “Easter eggs” from the city’s history.
Here are some things to note after watching the first five episodes to help you get ready the series, Tulsa-based filmmaker Sterlin Harjo’s follow-up to “Reservation Dogs,” which was shot primarily in Okmulgee. In a recent Los Angeles Times story, Harjo, who is from Holdenville, described “Reservation Dogs” as a love letter to rural Oklahoma and “The Lowdown” as his love letter to Tulsa:
