QUEEN CREEK, AZ (AZFamily) — An East Valley school is honoring first responders and remembering those who lost their lives during the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
Legacy Traditional School’s Queen Creek campus held a helicopter fly-in on Thursday to welcome students as they arrived to school. Students got to see the chopper up-close right before classes begun and spoke with pilots.
“We want to honor our first responders. Every day, these men and women put their lives on the line. We want to make sure that the sacrifices that these people make, the sacrifices of the past that were made, so they can understand why these people are so important to our communities,” said Dr. Devin Miller, director of school operations.
